Arjon's story
Arjon is two years old, diagnosed with a heart murmur at birth and severe anemia, but the situation worsens when, following persistent flu symptoms, his parents take him to the hospital. Here he is diagnosed with an advanced streptococcal infection, which, in his condition, if not treated promptly, can lead to irreparable consequences.
In Albania it is not possible to provide him with the care and operation that Arjon needs, but the hope of a cure is not long in coming. Thanks to the report of our Partner Il Castello dei Sorrisi, Arjon's case reached Flying Angels, and the team promptly took action for his transfer to Italy.
The little patient was immediately admitted to the Verona Hospital, where the head of the pediatric cardiac surgery department wanted to personally conduct the complex operation.
Despite the demanding surgical procedure, after ten days Arjon was fully recovered, toddling all over the ward, so much so that the doctors allowed his mother to take him out into the garden to play.
Arjon’s mother is over the moon with her son’s amazing recovery, and he is now ready to go home with the only recommendation being careful monitoring to prevent further strep infections.
